WOMEN’S HEALTH

An integrative approach combining manual therapy, learning and empowerment for women

I feel passionate about women’s health and the importance of raising more awareness of all the “women troubles” that we are culturally conditioned to not talk about. This needs to change and I want to do my bit to make that change.

Your appointment for women’s health osteopathy works very similar to a standard osteopathic consultation. However, whilst still assessing the other structures, I focus in more detail on strain patterns related to organs such as the bladder, the uterus and ovaries. Every patient is unique in their presentation, so both examination and treatment are individual and no two treatments will be the same.

For example, I may assess what impact a Caesarean scar has on the mobility of the internal organs. Or how an episiotomy scar influences the hip or pelvic floor muscles. Or how the pressure dynamics between the abdomen and the thorax is affected by the removal of the uterus in a hysterectomy. I am truly privileged to do such fascinating and utterly rewarding work!

But it doesn’t stop here. Vitality Matters offers advice and guidance in informal women’s health workshops which are designed to keep things simple and pragmatic. They also provide the perfect opportunity to meet other women in the same boat. I don’t want to overwhelm you with medical jargon, instead I want you to understand how your body works and why certain things are happening in response to life events like pregnancy, menopause or hysterectomy.

Unfortunately, some conditions can only be managed rather than the problem being taken away all together. So what I want most of all is to provide you with the information and tools that help you to become empowered. After all, knowledge is power! So why not sign up for “Monthly Matters” my newsletter to find out about upcoming workshops?
